The label expansion could lead to improved insurance coverage for Wegovy, which is expensive. The drug has been shown to lower the risk of cardiac events by 20% compared to a placebo. Wegovy is indicated for people with a body mass index of at least 30 or those with a BMI of at least 27 and a weight-related health condition.
